RULES FOR USING OUR JUBILEE PANTRY:
Some information regarding our Jubilee Pantry/ Information for those in need of emergency food assistance.
Some Rule Changes.
Please note, Our Jubilee pantry is a small operation, we aren't as large as a food bank unfortunatley.
We only carry non perishable food donations and heavily rely on the donations of our community and our parish members. (No produce or frozen foods available)
We serve as a resource for those in need of food during emergency situations, we help those have access to food ONCE per month during an emergency or tough times.
Those in need have access to come to our parish, receive one bag of food for the household once per month.
We wish we could give more if this isn't enough however as mentioned our pantry is small and it all depends how much need there has been during the month and how much donations we have gratefully received.
We ask those who need assistance respect the rules in place to receive food as follows:
-When visting 45 John St, Please stand outside the door (due to Covid still going around and the Flu, or we could be in the process of a meeting/phone call or we have our cleaner cleaning the front area of the lobby.)
We ask that you please wait outside while we prepare you a bag. Please do not come right in we will help assist you at the door.
-Upon arrival please say your first name and any food allergies you or anyone in your family may have and anything you may be looking for in particular. Giving us your name helps us keep track of how many people have came in the month, how much food we have left available for the following month and to keep track making sure you are allowed to come once per month.
-Food can be picked up during office hours which are listed on our Facebook Page for each week for the next following week.
We have an open and closed sign in our window to let you know if our office is open or closed as well.
-Phone calls or Facebook messages are accepted as well for requests for food. Please be patient as our office is only open 2 days a week so we will answer as soon as possible.
-If our office is not open Food can be picked up at any time our Father is present at the house. He can prep a bag for you as well. We ask that you follow the same rules as well please.
-*Anyone from No More Tears West Nipissing*
If you know anyone in need of food coming to the soup kitchen, could you please make a list of first names of those in need that come to you for food?or are planning to come to our office for food?,
If our office is open we can certainly prep you a couple bags to give out to prevent any office disruptions if there is a meeting in progress or we are on the phone.
If we aren't open and our Father is present, could you please send a volunteer to come inside to pick up some food for those that are in need. Also can you please share these new rules with them.
A BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!
We thank all those who are able to donate to our Jubilee Pantry to help those in our community in need. We are still going strong and always are accepting non perishable food items to help keep our pantry full. We are so grateful for what we receive because we love to be able to help those in need during tough times in our community. Being there for the community is what we do and what we love. Thank you to all who donate! You are shining stars!
Critical Needs We also are looking for pet food donations for those in need who have pets. We are also looking for baby food, womens and mens hygiene products, cereal, canned meat, canned fruit, rice and cleaning supplies.
We ask that anyone willing to donate to please be mindful of the expiration dates on the products as we don't want to be liable if something we give out is expired. (A couple months after the date is okay as long as it is not dairy or fish products, but nothing past 6 months please and thank you)
